Studies have shown that getting up early has many benefits. Do they include getting a decent breakfast in The Fort?
We
are going to investigate that very important matter here. To feed
demanding early risers, a restaurant must be open at 7am or before, with
proper breakfast menu, comfortable seating and table service.

(1) Serendra Piazza

Chelsea Grand Caf├® opens at 7am, last breakfast order is at 10:45am. Examples of breakfast dishes: Belgian waffles (P295), Italian Countryside Big Plate Breakfast includes grilled sausage, potatoes, eggs, and parmesan tomatoes (P350).
LarryÔÇÖs Cafe Bar serves breakfast from 7am to 10:30am. The menu includes mushroom spaghetti, bacon and mushroom burger.
(2) Bonifacio High Street
Italianni’s Restaurant (B5, Bonifacio High Street) serves breakfast from 7am to 10:30am. Its breakfast menu starts at P165 (tuna and lemon crepes) and includes crepes, omelettes (around P300), and Filipino breakfast dishes. A pretty good deal as it includes a house coffee, and if you are a member of the Bistro Group, you can get further discounts.
There are three coffee shops at BHS near 9th Avenue that have breakfast menu, but no table service include:
SeattleÔÇÖs Best Coffee (B3, Bonifacio High Street) serves all-day breakfast. It opens from 7am everyday. It closes either at 12am or 1am (Friday and Saturday).
FigaroÔÇÖs (B2, Bonifacio High Street) also serves all day breakfast and opens from 7am everyday. It closes either at 12am or 1am (Friday and Saturday).
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (B8, Bonifacio High Street) (opens from 7am everyday to midnight or 2am on Friday and Saturday).
(3) The Fort Strip
The Early Bird Breakfast Club (G/F Fort Pointe 2 Building, 28th Street, The Fort Complex) opens from 7am to 11pm everyday, except Friday and Saturday when it opens 24 hours. Since its whole menu is for breakfast, it has a wide selection of dishes that can be consumed to start the day, from traditional Filipino breakfast dishes like Adobo Sunrise (P315) to a full English breakfast (P570). Less fancy and pricey breakfast dishes are the Early Bird Toast (P115) and a fruit platter with yoghurt and honey (P180).
(4) Other places in The Fort
The Bowery NYC Comfort Food (Forbeswood Heights, Rizal Drive corner Burgos Circle) serves breakfast everyday from 7am to 11am.
IHOP Restaurant (W Global Center, 30th Street corner 9th Ave). Opens at 6am on weekdays, and 24 hours on weekends.
Kuppa Roastery & Cafe (Commercenter Building, 31st Street corner 4th Ave) opens everyday from 7am to 11pm (12am on Saturdays). What makes Kuppa different from other coffee shops is that coffee beans are roasted in house. House blend costs P120 a cup. Nice place for business meeting upstairs.
Wildflour Caf├® + Bakery (G/F Net Lima Bldg, 4th Ave corner 26th Street) opens from Monday to Saturday at 7am and closes at 10pm (11pm on Saturday), opens from 8am to 4pm on Sunday.
UCC Caf├® Terrace (Forbes Town Center, 26th Street corner Rizal Drive) and UCC Park Caf├® (Burgos Circle) both open from 7am to midnight daily except on Friday and Saturday when it closes at 1pm. Their breakfast sets all come with a cup of their house-blend coffee.
Tokyo Bubble Tea (The Fort Residences, 30th Street corner 2nd Avenue) recently joined the breakfast crowd and now serves breakfast from 7am to 10am daily. Its offering includes Filipino breakfast like Tapsilog (P225) and breakfast platter with either sausage or bacon, two eggs, pork and bean (P245). Unlimited coffee is included.
There are places that are neither a restaurant nor a regular fast food joint like McDonalds or Jollibee that serve freshly made complete breakfast. These include a branch of Army Navy Burgers that recently opened at Net Quad, 30th Street corner 4th Avenue. In fact, this branch is opened 24 hours a day during weekdays. Its all day breakfast are mostly Filipino breakfast such as longganisa (P145), tapa (P160) and tocino (P145) that are served with egg, atchara and garlic rice.
There are also restaurants that serve decent breakfast but do not open before 7am. Paul Boulangerie at Bench Tower, Rizal Drive, only opens from 8am, but have a good breakfast range (in a separate breakfast menu). It may come as a surprise to some people, its breakfast starts at a reasonable price. Basic pancake is P120 and waffle at P130.
Conclusion: there are plenty of good breakfast places for early risers in BGC. On weekdays, the early riser’s best bet though, is IHOP Restaurant, since it opens earliest at 6am!
