Each Friday we report on something interesting that we see on the streets of Bonifacio Global City.
What: Mercato Centrale @ BGC, open starting at 6pm as of July 29, 2014
Location: 8th Avenue corner 38th Street, Bonifacio Global City
Date observed: August 01, 2014 | Time: 10:00 PM
Bad weather could not stop people from going to Mercato Centrale
@ BGC to have a quick midnight snack, chill and enjoy the amazing food
that bring people closer together.
Manila QÔÇÖs bagwang is just one of the favorites of many people who
come to Mercato Centrale, especially if theyÔÇÖre craving for Lechon Kawali
(Crispy Pan-Fried Roasted Pork). This mouth-watering strip of meat looks
like bacon but crunchy and tasty like bagnet. When combined with fried
rice, egg and spicy vinegar, it is simply delicious! This is also my
favorite!
What is Mercato Centrale without these popular street food like isaw,
calamares, dugo, kwek-kwek, and more? Well, theyÔÇÖre awesomely tasty but
exotic! Other interesting stalls included one that sold ice cream made
from dry ice, and chili dogs sold from US-styled food truck (btw, food
truck seems to be the next in-thing in the food fair sector). One stall
was selling US steak at P190 per serving. Has anyone tried it?
DonÔÇÖt you love soup especially in bad weather like this? Mercato
Centrale has Shabu-shabu at one of the corners of the venue. With many
ingredients to choose from, make your own aromatic broth, and happy tummy! Also, thereÔÇÖs plenty of drinks to choose from, enjoy and eat
well!
The new location of Mercato Centrale is at 26th Street corner 7th Avenue, BGC, The Fort.
