There seems to be a new wave of Mexican restaurants opening in the Fort. But these new arrivals are quite distinct from each other, as different foreign flavors are fused with Mexican food.
Fiery Style Southwestern Flaming Grill

Fiery Style is a restaurant chain that serves US Texas style Mexican food. It has taco, burrito, quesadillo, but its main star, however, is actually the rump steak, rather than a Mexican dish. We ordered a Steak ala Familia (P1,198), the meat was tender and flavorful and it was big enough for 4 persons.

This modern restaurant at the ground floor of the new mall across Shangri-la at the Fort claims to make Mexian dishes using Japanese ingredients. Currently on soft opening, the restaurant only opens from 6pm to midnight.
If you are still hungry for Mexican food, there is VATOS at the Net Park that serves Korean style Mexican food, or Hacienda at Forbestown Road not far from Fiery Style that serves Mexican food that seems to emulate Spanish tapas.

Mendokoro‘s Makati branch has been the most popular ramen restaurant in the Salcedo Village area for a few years. Their newly opened branch at Icon Plaza at 26th Street near 5th Avenue also has long line outside, despite its super-efficient customer seating system. The restaurant seats its clients around the kitchen area, and almost everyone is seated facing the kitchen, so those who go there are for the food or the kitchen, and not so much to socialize.
It has two types of hot ramen, one is served with the noodles in a separate bowl (Tsukemen, from P430), while the other is the usual soup noodle (Tonkotsu, from P370). We actually liked the tonkotsu more. Both noodles come with a sauce that had chopped pork, which we found very salty and was very oily, but to each their own.
Noor Modern Mediterranean Restaurant

Noor is a newly opened Mediterranean Restaurant in the Fort. In fact, if not for the opening of a new branch of Cafe Mediterranean at the One Bonifacio High Street mall, it would be the only restaurant that serves Medierranean food in the Fort.
Currently at soft opening, it has a small menu. Despite that, all the dishes that we tried (Morrocan shrimps P470, fish kabab P550, beef and lamb P620) were excellent. Also, it only serves dinner at the moment.
4th Avenue, BGC, The Fort
If the interiors of a restaurant reflect the mind of the owner, then we would say that the owner of Chao Chao has two minds. Why? because it has a trendy / funky table on one end of the restaurant (for alcohol drinking, presumably), and at the other end are square tables with regular chairs (for eating gyoza).  But when it comes to food, the menu looks very serious about gyoza. They have about 30 varieties of gyoza, and some of them are really rad judging from the description! e.g. Tori Cheese Yaki Gyoza.

The restaurant serves authentic Chinese food from the northern provinces of China, which means that it has many spicy dishes, boiled dumplings and noodles. We ordered boiled dumplings and cleavered noodles, and the taste brought back memories of trips in central China. Prepare to be adventurous though, as the English translation of the dishes on the menu may not truly tell you what is in a dish.
