For people who need to go from the Burgos Circle area in Fort Bonifacio to Bonifacio High Street, for the past five years or so, we had to use 30th Street or 28th Street and suffer the dust and traffic congestion caused by the construction of Shangri-La at the Fort and the Suites. Often, when there were construction vehicles parked on these streets, pedestrians were required to walk precariously close to moving traffic. Starting from today, December 28, 2015, however, we have a better alternative.

The open space between the West Super Block and Shangri-la Hotel, now called One Bonifacio Park, is nearly finished and is open to the public. The West Super Block, as it was called, will be home to the unified Philippine Stock Exchange as well as a high-end residential development by Ayala Land called the Suites.

What will the park look like when fully finished? we did some research and found interesting postings that appeared in the website called skyscrapercity.com in 2009 by someone with user name of IslandSon.PH. In 2009, when the West Super Block was still on the drawing board, apparently, the plan was to put ponds and water feature in the landscape.  As of today, it seems that there was a change in plan, as we do not see any ponds.
There was also supposed to be elevated landing outside the Philippine Stock Exchange building.
It is normal for plans to change before being implemented. Let us hope the actual design is as good if not better than the earlier plans.
This open space is recorded as 29th Street on the current Google map, but of course, as can be seen from the above photos and design plans from 2009, there was never meant to be vehicular access in that space.
