Did you enjoy the musical movie “The Greatest Showman“, and cannot stop singing its songs?

Have you ever wished that you could be in the musical “The Lion King“, a show that is now wowing audiences in the Philippines?

Guess what! You do not have to be a Broadway star just in dreams. With determination (and sweat), one day you could be in a real musical! But first, make sure your talent can be noticed, and be noticed in the best light. Sadly, for every star on a Broadway stage, there are a hundred people who can sing and act as well as the person on stage but are not given the chance to do so because of simple mistakes that they made during an audition, like not picking the right segment of a song to sing at the audition, or not being prepared at all. These ‘mistakes’ are made because the aspiring talent has no idea what the directors are looking for.

That is why we got very excited when we learned about a workshop to be conducted by a world-class theater veteran and musical director, Rony Fortich. Mr. Fortich was the former musical director at Hong Kong Disneyland who has years of experience in picking talents for their musical productions. He is literally the best guy to tell you how to prepare for a musical audition.

Having worked abroad for many years, Mr. Fortich now wants to help groom the musical stars of tomorrow in his home country.

His audition workshops will help anyone who wants to audition for a musical and have a better chance of getting it right. Even for those who have done it before, there are still many pointers that Mr. Fortich can give.

Apart from the workshops on audition, Mr. Fortich will also conduct workshops for different age groups on song interpretation. Some people can sing well at a technical level, reach a wide range of notes and so on, but fail to convey the message behind the notes. In the workshop, students will be guided on how to express a song properly, and he/she gets to choose his/her own song to interpret!

For those with some theater experience and would like to try their hand at becoming a musical director, they should not miss the rare opportunity to be guided by Rony Fortich, a theater veteran who has seen and done it all, here and abroad, at the most demanding theaters. The only pre-requisite is that you should be able to read music.

Not sure if there is a workshop for you?

This does not usually happen, but Rony is offering a free trial class for each workshop!
