Eighteen months into the COVID-19 pandemic, many shops have closed. But we are seeing some green shoots in the retail business. Maybe because of lowered rent, and the undying entrepreneurial spirit, or whatever reason, we have spotted new shops in BGC.
Kiwami Japanese Food Mall
7th Avenue, along Bonifacio High Street, near St. Louis Cafe and OOMA Japanese restaurant
It has Ippudo ramen (previously in Uptown Mall), Yabu breaded pork chop (previously in SM Aura mall), a yakitori stall, a soft serve ice-cream. Since it is opened recently, it has a big outdoor dining area. The Ippudo ramen set, comprising a small portion or their classic ramen and three pieces of gyoza, costs P330. Ramen was great, not so much the gyoza (meat was too mushy).
Chi Mac Korean Chicken and Beer
Forbestown Road
Opened just today (September 29, 2021), the main menu of this restaurant contains the usual Korean fried chicken in different flavors. The snack menu is a little bit unusual, one dish is Dried Squid & Peanut for P380, another is Muktea, a dish of P650 dried pollack.
The Coffee Academics
Inside BGC South Corporate Plaza
This is primarily a coffee take out place, but it does have a couple of tables.
Luxuri Pets Grooming
